10 Co-op Games to Play When You’re Tired of MMO

Here at MMORPG, we see MMO as the pinnacle of social gaming, with players meeting their friends online multiple times per week to search, kill mobs, enter dungeons, and raid the boss to chase gold and equipment. However, MMOs can take a long time with static groups, raid schedules, and clan obligations that must be met regardless of what’s going on in the real world.

What is one to do when your MMO commitments get too demanding and you just want a break without completely giving up on the social aspect of the game? The answer is simple – invite a few friends and get in on some co-op multiplayer action. By making the most of your multiplayer experience, you fulfill your commitment and obligation to keep up with hundreds or thousands of other players. If one or two of your MMO raid groups can’t make it, it’s a wasted day. If someone can’t make it to your regularly scheduled Wednesday night collab, who cares? Play without them knowing they won’t fall behind without them there.

With so many casual (versus MMO) co-op games out there, which should you and your friends try? We’ve put together a list of the 10 best co-op games to play when you’re exhausted from MMOs. This means everything from crafting, building, fighting, even a bit of role-playing. So don’t expect to find Overcooked or It Takes Two on this list (although they’re also great games). And be sure to let us know which games we missed in the comments.
