“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” Marvel’s first martial arts movie, features some of the best fight choreography in the MCU along with a powerful set of weapons known as the Ten Rings. Iron rings give their users a variety of magical powers. It’s still a mystery where they come from and what their full capabilities are, but we’ll break down what we do know, as well as why these rings were included in the list.
Wenwu, Shang-Chi’s father, looks like he’s over 40 years old, but he’s actually thousands of years old; apparently, Ten Rings slows down the aging process significantly. However, they were unable to protect the wearer from fatal wounds, and they did not allow immortality – Wenwu eventually died of old age. It will simply take some time. In addition, the Rings give the bearer superhuman strength and are controlled through a telepathic link. In “Shang-Chi”, we see them fire energy blasts, attack in various forms, and fly back to the user’s arm. In the final battle of the film, Wenwu and Shang-Chi are also able to jump to great heights and land unharmed. Although a sequel to “Shang-Chi” has yet to be announced, it more or less seems inevitable. Therefore, we will surely discover more about what these mystical rings can do soon.
