15-year-old boy robbed by men in balaclavas in Horsham

POLICE have released CCTV images of two men they wish to speak to in connection with a robbery of a 15-year-old boy.

Three men wearing balaclavas were seen on West Street, Horsham, around 5.30pm on Friday 15 July.

Police said the group approached a 15-year-old boy who was sitting with a friend outside the Lynd Cross public house and Wilkinson store.

The boy was then led around the corner towards The Gym and his bag was taken.

One of the three suspects was described as a slim white male, 6ft 2in and was seen carrying a knife.

Members of the public, who saw what had happened and intervened, challenged one of the men and then helped apprehend him after a brief chase at a nearby Waitrose shop.

The suspect was subsequently arrested by the police.

Now police are trying to identify the other two young men in connection with the incident.

One of the young men is described as black and 5ft 2ft. The second young man is described as being of mixed race and 5ft 4in.

Officials have been looking for witnesses and have urged anyone who recognizes the two young men or may have seen them in the city center on July 15 to come forward.
