24-year-old woman who died when car crashed into trees was a ‘beautiful angel’

A woman killed in a horror car crash was a “beautiful angel,” heartbroken friends have said.

The 24-year-old was identified locally as Shannon Hunt, who was pronounced dead at the scene after the clash in Scunthorpe at 9.25pm ​​last Friday

Humberside Police said a silver Audi A4 convertible swerved off the road and collided with trees and they have launched an investigation, it reported Grimsby Live.

Rescue workers rushed to the scene and three other people in the car suffered serious injuries.

Many tributes were left at the scene.

A floral tribute read: “Rest in peace Shan. Be with your mother and father. Think of the family.”

Friends also posted tributes online with people calling them an “angel.”

One said: “Rest in peace Shannon. Heaven has won a beautiful angel. You will be missed so much little girl.”

Another wrote: “To hear you grew your angel wings at such a young age is devastating. fly high beautiful Rest in paradise girl. The memories will always be remembered and you will be missed by many.”

Humberside Police released a statement confirming the death and asked for information from anyone with dashcam footage from the moments before the collision.

They are particularly curious about the driver of a red Nissan that was spotted in the area at the time.

A police statement said: “Following further investigation to identify a witness driving a light-colored vehicle, officers are now particularly interested in speaking to the driver, who they believe is a red Nissan Micra is believed to have seen the Audi just prior to the collision.”

Accident investigators will prepare a report for the Lincolnshire Coroner and trained officers will assist the woman’s family.

A police spokesman said: “A 24-year-old woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The three other occupants of the car were taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries.

“We’d like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage of the area at the time. Please call 101 and quote log 630 of June 17th.”
