Benin

According to the UK foreign office, entry and exit at Benin border crossings is limited to ‘extreme necessity’.

Bhutan

Bhutan’s borders are closed to all foreign nationals, including Britons.

The government of Bhutan has yet to specify when the country will reopen to foreign visitors.

Brunei

Entry to Brunei is severely restricted.

On December 14, Brunei announced that Britons would be allowed to enter the country for non-essential travel.

However, that was dropped on December 22 due to the spread of Omicron in the UK.

Foreign nationals can only enter Brunei for essential travel.

Britons can enter Chile, but proof of vaccination must be confirmed by the Chilean government – which can take up to 30 days.

China

Chinese authorities have suspended all direct flights from the UK.

It has yet to be announced when this rule will be reviewed.

Falkland Islands

Tourists are not allowed to visit the Falkland Islands, including via cruise ships.

Friends of the resident can visit if they are sponsored by an islander who is in the Falklands at the time of arrival.

They will be quarantined for up to 14 days.

France

France suggested it UK travel ban to be eased soon.

Currently, only British people traveling for necessary reasons can visit France, regardless of whether they are vaccinated or not.

Travelers for an essential reason, for example, to see a dying loved one, must present a negative PCR result or an antigen test performed within 24 hours of departure.

Anyone arriving from the UK must provide contact details, including the address they will be staying, to French authorities.

Hong Kong

On January 8th Hong Kong imposes two-week travel ban on Britons.

International passengers arriving from the UK who have been or have been transiting through the UK in the previous 14 days are prohibited from entering Indonesia.

Official delegates and foreign diplomats serving in Indonesia are exempt.

British nationals without a current status of residence are not allowed to enter Japan for any purpose, except in exceptional circumstances.

British people residing in Japan will be refused entry if they come from certain African countries.

This time can be reduced to five days if the person receives a negative test result from the Dutch authorities on Thursday.

New Zealand

The New Zealand border is currently closed to most arrivals, including Britons.

The phased border easing will be reviewed at the end of February.
