1. ExpressVPN

Our tech writer Alessandro Mascellino put ExpressVPN to the test in January 2022 and tried accessing Netflix during his review.

He watched Netflix across several locations around the world and found that every location delivered that region’s content with no problems – and best of all, it had absolutely no lag.

ExpressVPN may be a bit more expensive than most VPNs out there, but it also offers servers in worldwide locations you won’t find anywhere else – we call it a great VPN choice for Netflix.

Is it legal to use a VPN for Netflix?

Yes – VPNs are legal services and there is no law that prohibits their use to access Netflix content in regions outside of the one you are in.

Using a VPN as an alternative in this way does not constitute copyright infringement.

However, it goes against Netflix’s terms of service – and the streaming company reserves the right to cut off access to anyone who does so.

But that’s not something that’s supposed to be done once. Our prediction is that in the eyes of Netflix, the advantages of retaining paying customers far outweigh the disadvantages of letting them access content outside of their region.

After all, the streaming market is a fiercely competitive one, and whoever kicks off Netflix is likely going in the direction of Amazon Prime, Disney+, and HBO Max.

What is the best free VPN for Netflix?

There aren’t any free out-of-the-box VPNs that we’d recommend for this – like nearly all products on the market, you get what you pay for.

However, many VPNs also offer free trial periods, giving you the opportunity to try out different services and compare their performance.

Can I watch Netflix for free with a VPN?

Is not. Netflix is still a subscription-only service – and in our humble opinion, it’s a great value for money.

We will never advocate trying to access a service without a subscription fee.

The locations depend on each service, but they are often scattered far and wide around the globe.

So when you activate your VPN, you can choose from a number of countries around the world.

After doing that, when you go to Netflix, you’re essentially tricking the service into thinking you’re living in that region of choice.

So, if you live in the UK and you want to watch some US-only Netflix shows, just use your VPN to pick up a US server location and voila: you’re all set. US Netflix.

Can you watch US Netflix with a VPN?

There’s all sorts of shows available only on US Netflix – and interestingly, a reasonable number of UK shows aren’t currently available in the UK itself.

Netflix offers its service in an incredible 190 countries worldwide, with a constantly rotating list of shows and movies in each country – you’ll find everything

For easy streaming, you don’t need: Netflix is a service that you can access through any smart device, whether it’s your smartphone, tablet, or TV.
