Mauricio Pochettino’s dream was to land the job at Manchester United but it has turned out to be a living nightmare for the Paris Saint-Germain manager.
The Argentine was the clear front-runner for the Old Trafford appearance Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was axed six months ago, but it seems the Red Devils have gone in a different direction. Erik ten Hag has verbally agreed to become the next United manager as he will leave Ajax at the end of the season and sign a three-year deal.
the athlete claims senior officials at United were impressed with Pochettino’s offer but ultimately it was Ten Hag’s ability to win silverware this gave it the advantage over the former Tottenham head coach.
What’s next for Pochettino? PSG were happy to ease his potential move to Old Trafford and hinted his time at Parc des Princes is up. Here are five potential landing spots for him.
There is speculation that Carlo Ancelotti will leave real Madrid at the end of the season, although he will likely lead them to a La Liga title. The Italian too led the Spanish giants to a Champions League Semifinals with a win over Chelsea in a successful return to the Bernabeu after the exit on Tuesday night everton
But if Madrid are on the lookout for a new man, they are likely to turn to Pochettino as they have already made two attempts to sign him in recent years. He would be a perfect candidate to lead the inevitable rebuilding in the Spanish capital with the likes of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Karim Benzema ending their careers.

If Pochettino wants to experience a new league, Serie A would be the ideal destination for him juventus Supposedly looking for a new manager. The Torino club have endured a disappointing season under Massimiliano Allegri, with the Italians currently fourth in the table.
However, Juve are currently in a state of turmoil but there are question marks over whether Allegri is the man leading the rebuild. Pochettino would be the perfect replacement to electrify them and make them title contenders again.
A return to Tottenham is unlikely but cannot be ruled out either. Things may be looking rosy for Antonio Conte’s Spurs at the moment, but that could change in the blink of an eye. Just ask Inter Milan.
The Italian has already expressed his frustration with the squad at his disposal and who is to say that doesn’t last long. The silver lining for the north Londoners is that if everything hits the mark with Conte, Pochettino will be waiting in the wings.
Pochettino hasn’t hidden his desire to return First League and Spurs is an attractive proposition given their successful time together. Let’s not forget that chairman Daniel Levy tried to bring him back before they approached Conte, so the feeling is clearly mutual.
It seems unthinkable that Chelsea would voluntarily part ways with Thomas Tuchel given what he has achieved in such a short time at Stamford Bridge, but uncertainty surrounding the new club has put his future in doubt.
The Blues have yet to appoint new owners, which means there are question marks over each player and manager at the moment. Tuchel has been linked to that Manchester United Job last month but insists he remains signed to Chelsea.
He said: “I’ve said many times that I like being here and this club has everything it needs to make me happy. There’s no need for that. We have a lot of reasons to stay at the moment. I’m doing my best and I’ve felt the support here at the club since day 1. It makes me feel safe and then I do my best to play my part and move things forward.”
Pochettino would certainly be considered if Tuchel leaves and while he would consider a return to England, it remains to be seen if he would join Spurs’ city rivals.
Paris Saint-Germain doesn’t technically count as a new club but people just assume Pochettino is on the way out and forget that he still has one more season under contract.
What if he can turn her fate around? The Ligue 1 club are on course to win the French title, correcting last year’s mistake, but it is their success (or lack thereof) in the Champions League under the Argentine that has been widely criticized.
PSG suffered an embarrassing meltdown against Real Madrid but their talent cannot be questioned. If Pochettino can pull out the right melody Lionel MessiNeymar and Kylian Mbappe – if he stays beyond next season – who says both parties can’t work things out.
