Stars including 50 Cent, DJ Jazzy Jeff and actress Sophia Bush have spoken out about the shocking on-stage argument between Will Smith and Chris Rock.
Before he won Best Actor, Will stormed the stage at the Oscars on Sunday night and slapped Chris in the face onstage after the comedian cracked a joke at the expense of the actor’s wife.
The stunning incident began when comedian Chris joked about Jada Pinkett Smith’s buzzcut, quipping, “Jada, can’t wait for GI Jane 2.”
Will – who married Jada in 1997 – appeared to go on stage and punch the presenter before returning to his seat and yelling, “Keep my wife’s name out of your friggin’ mouth.”
As the world reacted to the shocking spat, celebrities watching at home took to social media to share their thoughts on the bust.
“Btch, don’t you ever play with me. LOL,” rapper 50 Cent captioned a screenshot of the “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” actor taking a swipe at the stand-up comic.
A Tree Hill star, Sophia Bush, had a different take on the incident – she pointed out that despite such a “cruel” joke, violence was unjustified.
“Violence is not okay. Attack is never the answer. In addition? This is the second time Chris has made fun of Jada on the #Oscars stage and tonight he took care of her alopecia,” the actress mused on Twitter.
“It’s wrong to knock down someone’s autoimmune disease. It is cruel to do this on purpose. They both need a breather.”
She added: “For people asking if their alopecia is public knowledge? Yes. She first spoke about it in 2018. She’s been open about it ever since, and the Smiths/Rock have had a long overlapping circle.
“It wasn’t okay to hit him. AND his “joke” was cruel and personal. Everything awful.”
Comedian Kathy Griffin apparently sided with Chris in the Fall Out, tweeting: “Let me tell you something, it’s a very bad habit to go on stage and physically assault a comedian.

“Now we all have to start thinking about who the next Will Smith wants to be in comedy clubs and theaters.”
Talk show host Connor O’Brien also commented on the most talked about moment of the night, quipping: “I just saw Will Smith slap. Does anyone have a late night show I can check out just for tomorrow?”
Shortly after the shocking incident, Will received his first-ever Oscar, winning Best Actor for his starring role in King Richard.

“Love will make you do crazy things,” the emotional winner confessed, referencing his earlier outburst.
He also revealed what Denzel Washington said to him after the punch: “At your peak, the devil comes for you.”
Will apologized to the Academy and to his fellow candidates.
Comedian Chris reportedly “refused to file a police report” after the on-stage altercation between himself and Will.
The academy broke its silence on the matter after the show ended, saying in a statement on social media that it “does not condone any form of violence.”
