7 things you haven’t seen on TV – Billboard

With nine awards, Karol G was the biggest winner of the night at the 19th annual Premios Juventud Awards, held for the first time on Thursday (July 21) in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She was followed by Grupo Firme with four awards, while Becky G, Evaluna Montaner, Tiësto, Ángela Aguilar, J Balvin and Farruko each received two.

But while the winners and performances by stars – such as Prince Royce, Daddy Yankee, CNCO and J Balvin – were televised, a lot of the action took place backstage and on Red carpet.

Check out what you don’t see on TV:

1. Rain or Shine

As with any event, rain or shine at Premios Juventud. But unfortunately, it started to rain only about 45 minutes before the carpet closed. Press, crew and talent – including Banda MS, who had just arrived – flocked to find the news nearby. Billboards was also in the middle of an interview with power couple Guaynaa and Lele Pons when the showers started.

2. Artist Network

Many artists take advantage of the red carpet to network. Among the things Billboards observed how Goyo talked to Ally Brooke and Tainy; Musica Mexicana newcomers Yahritza y Su Esencia and Majo Aguilar pose for a photo; and pop artist Danna Paola and Dominican artist La Materialista met for the first time.

3. K-Pop Presence

Speaking of red carpets, K-pop was outstandingly represented at the Latin awards, with appearances from up-and-coming groups T1419 and Momoland, who actually presented the newly added best fandom award. with Guaynaa.

4. Behind the scenes of Serenatas

Behind the scenes, a wave of artists took to the media center to talk about their experiences at the awards. Most interesting, however, were the artists who performed a capella in their songs for the press. Tropical artists Michael Stuart, Manny Cruz, Luis Figueroa, and Luis Vazquez paid homage to El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico; Alejo sings his reggaeton hit “Pantysito”; and Lenin Ramirez poured their hearts out with the winning collaboration “En Tu Perra Vida”.

5. Angela Aguilar Wins PJ . Award

Also backstage, Angela Aguilar surprised with her first win at Premios Juventud, receiving the award for Rising Female Artist and Mexican Regional Album of the Year with Mexicana Enamorada. After speaking to the press, she immediately rushed off the stage to share the news with her father and artist Pepe Aguilar.

6. Farruko introduces new talent

Farruko arrived at the media center with Dominican DJ Adoni, where they received the perfect mix award for their collaboration “El Incomprendido.” Earlier in the night, Farruko received the viral song of the year for “Pepas”. But besides his two wins, Farruko also introduced to the press a new local talent from Puerto Rico named Dylan. The 6-year-old boy, who opened the concert for Farru, showed off his rapping skills to the press.

7. Grupo Firme talks to Yahritza y Su Esencia

Behind the scenes, Grupo Firme confirmed for promising artists Yahritza y Su Esencia. “They are creating a really good movement and we are fans of their music,” said lead vocalist Eduin Caz. “She is a young girl who is only 15 years old, but she has a lot of future.”

The awards show was televised live on Univision and was hosted by Danna Paola, Grupo Firme’s Eduin Caz, Prince Royce and TV personality Clarissa Molina.
