Since the news broke, a spokesman for Sudeikis has claimed the actor had “no prior knowledge” of the details of how the court document was served and that the inconvenient circumstances were a fault of the litigation services company.

A source tells diversity: “Mr. Sudeikis had no prior knowledge of the time or place of delivery of the envelope as that would be solely a matter for the process service company involved and he would never condone it being delivered in such an inappropriate manner.”

Two months later, photos were released showing Wilde holding hands with 28-year-old singer Harry Styles at his agent’s wedding in January 2021 in Montecito, California.

Styles and Wilde have never publicly confirmed their relationship, but they have been pictured together several times over the past year, including in July on a yacht in Monte Argentario, off the coast of Tuscany.

Since then, Wilde has supported the singer at Style’s concerts, including his recent performance at Coachella in Palm Springs last week.

A viral TikTok video appears to show Styles catching a glimpse of Wilde from the stage before breaking into a huge grin as he sings his hit song sign of time.

Despite facing fierce, often sexist, media scrutiny following the breakup of her marriage and new relationship with the One Direction singer, Wilde has remained gracefully silent on matters of the heart.

The controversy erupted afterwards People magazine and Us weekly speculated about the timing discrepancies between her marriage and new relationship with Styles, which she cast as the male lead don’t worry darling three months before the end of their marriage.

Set in the 1950s, the psychological thriller follows a housewife (Pugh) living in a utopian experimental community as she tries to wrestle with the reality of her marriage after she uncovers a dark secret.

Five months after casting the role, the production issued a statement saying that LaBeouf had to pull out of the project because of a “scheduling conflict,” but it was later reported that the actor had been fired for alleged misbehavior.

A source close to the film narrates diversity that the actor “pushed off” Wilde and the other crew members, and the source added that Wilde “is known for building collaborative sets with a zero asshole policy.”

Those changes were made three months before singer FKA Twigs filed a lawsuit against LaBeouf alleging sexual assault and abuse during their relationship.

Wilde had Styles shortlisted to play the character of Jack in LaBeouf’s place after seeing his performance in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk.

Wilde gave an interview for Styles’ November 2020 Fashion Cover, about her and the film’s costume designer Arianne Phillips’ excitement at having the singer on board.

“She [Arianne] and I did a little victory dance when we heard we officially had Harry in the film because we knew he had a real appreciation for fashion and style,” Wilde said at the time.

“He’s very modern to me, and I hope that that confidence as a man that Harry has – truly devoid of any trace of toxic masculinity – is indicative of his generation and therefore the future of the world.”

Since Tuesday’s incident, neither Wilde nor Sudeikis have commented on the custody arrangements for their two children.
