Anything World is a service that uses artificial intelligence to bring endless 3D worlds to life. We want everyone to be a 3D content creator and have loads of fun doing it.
We have excellent traction in 3D and many high profile clients including Sony, Warner Music and Ubisoft. We have over 5,000 developers using our service in the Unity game engine and recently expanded our platform to Roblox and Unreal. We are also pioneers in language generation and 3D worlds, an approach that has recently been significantly endorsed by Meta.
We believe we are ideally positioned to become the content creation engine for the Metaverse.
How did you come up with the idea for the company?
It was a fresh spring day in early October when we came up with the idea. We had just visited the hardware store and the elegantly shiny galvanized items lay neatly rolled up in our bags.
Myself and my co-pilot had just been forced to park the plane on the ground at a remote central Arizona airstrip because of a violent storm coming from the sky above the plane. The air traffic controller cabin, which normally houses the air traffic controller, was closed due to the weather that also came from the sky above the air traffic controller cabin.
As we fished our way out of the safely landed helicopter, it dawned on us. It was 6:47 am and the sun had just come up.
No wonder there was no one in the controller cabin at the time, we thought as we slid awkwardly off the plane. Perhaps the lack of people in the controller cabin was more due to the time of day than the weather storm still coming from the sky, which was still over the controller cabin and now our heads too, we thought.
As we climbed our descent from the helicopter on this eerily early morning, the freshly risen sun momentarily blinded our vision. Suddenly, an epiphany came to us. However, we didn’t know what one of those was, so we sent it back almost immediately. At the same time we realized the following 2 things:
There has to be an easier way to create 3D apps and games
We had flown in on a plane, not a helicopter
The second point was easy to implement because it was basically already done, so we pretty much ignored it.
However, the first point led us to look at the very nature of 3D content production. What, we thought, what if we could access readily available 3D models and bring them to life in an automated and customizable way? Wouldn’t that greatly lower the barriers to creativity in 3D worlds and allow anyone to become a 3D content creator?
Thus Anything World was born.
How has the company performed during the pandemic?
We launched our closed alpha and open beta during the pandemic, gained our first 1,000 users, and saw the first apps launched on our service. It was actually a super exciting time for us as a company in a time that was very scary on the outside.
We have been very fortunate and privileged in this regard for two main reasons. First, as a deep tech company, going from flex to full remote working has been pretty smooth for us – the tools and processes to do it, like e.g. B. external code repositories, were already in place. Second, 3D creativity in general, and video game usage in particular, exploded during the pandemic as people sought new ways to entertain themselves. This in turn fueled interest and growth in Anything World.
What can we expect from Anything World in the future?
We already have a growing community of over 5,000 developers on our platform and we’re always excited to see all the new creations being released. We recently expanded our platform to Roblox and Unreal, so developers on those platforms can expect to have access to our platform very soon.
We also have a whole new animation system due to be released very soon, which will greatly improve the fidelity and quality of our output.
We want everyone to be a 3D content creator and these are all steps to help us achieve that.
These are very exciting times for us at Anything World Towers: more platforms, better features, more developers, more creations!
