A conversation with Sid Baveja, Founder and CEO of the Men’s Self-Care Platform: Humanery

Humanery is an online platform for men to buy the best self-care products. Founded in October 2021, we are a global marketplace headquartered in London.

The world no longer sees self-care as just a women’s domain, but many men still feel alienated from the world of beauty, grooming and well-being. We want to change that and give more men the opportunity to look and feel great. Humanery is the big brother, sister, cousin or best friend who supports men in their journey of education and discovery.

How did you come up with the idea for the company?

The idea for Humanery came to me after my own struggles with self-care. After experiencing post-shave razor burn, I found it a huge challenge to find a product from a traditional beauty store.

After talking to friends I realized that this was a broader problem for many men who wanted to buy self care products but had no idea who to contact for advice or where to go, to conveniently purchase a product for their needs. We created Humanery to take the stress and anxiety out of shopping for self-care products and give men a safe place online to discover the brands they love.

Coming from a minority, I truly believe that many groups in the beauty industry are still overlooked and underserved. At Humanery, we hope to help change that.

How has the company developed in recent years?

Since launching Humanery, we have seen steady growth. From a small idea I came up with a few years ago, to winning seed investments last summer, to launching in October, it’s been an incredibly exciting journey so far.

One of the nicest aspects has been our support for some of the best independent brands in the world. Every brand we work with has a strong ethos and an interesting story to tell, and we love nothing more than to present our customers with a curated collection of self-care products to discover.

What can we expect from Humanery in the future?

We are looking forward to our next round of financing and are excited to see what the future will bring.

We know the growth potential for our offering is huge. Male BPC is the fastest growing category in the global beauty industry, valued at more than $160 billion and growing at more than 4% annually. This is a hugely untapped market that Humanery will benefit from.

As we continue to grow our loyal customer base, we will also advance our mission to break down prejudice in the beauty industry by encouraging more men to put self-care first. A conversation with Sid Baveja, Founder and CEO of the Men’s Self-Care Platform: Humanery
