Eggcelerate activates Tech B2B Small Businesses strategy.
I founded Eggcelerate in 2014 to help CEOs and small business founders connect thought and action while maintaining a down-to-earth approach that leaves room for learning and adaptation.
Our goal is to bring operational discipline to small businesses while avoiding the bureaucracy of large corporations; to make available the MBA frameworks, theory and practice, with a strong focus on delivering fast tangible results.
Our goal is to close a culture and knowledge gap that sometimes seems insurmountable.
Because we position ourselves as experts and not consultants, we will only work with clients where we feel we can add value. Our goal isn’t to take money from small businesses, but instead work with them to grow their revenue.
How did you come up with the idea for the company?
Running an SME or a start-up brings unique challenges. Your world is moving fast and resources such as time, skills and people are always in short supply. A butterfly flaps its wings in sales and a tornado sweeps through your stores.
It doesn’t have to be like this. Simple changes can save you the hassle of running a business.
I think, on the one hand, small companies often feel neglected and are poorly served by large corporations and consultants. On the other hand, they may feel they can’t ask for or afford more and perceive big companies as mere bureaucracies.
The MBA frameworks often used by the traditional consultants look fluffy, expensive and not result-oriented.
They’re caught up in the daily cash-in/cash-out process and don’t have the time or headspace to focus on the big picture. Then, on top of that, they’re bombarded with all the new buzzwords ranging from digital transformation to artificial intelligence – including SEO, PPC and other TLAs: These require special skills and knowledge and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.
That’s why I created Eggcelerate, to enable these small businesses to truly thrive by giving them the expertise and tools to apply to their own business framework that actually makes sense to them.
How has the company performed during the pandemic?
During the pandemic, we followed the advice we gave to our customers:
1. Focus relentlessly on cash-generating activities: maintain liquidity as best you can, assess your options for government support. BUT
2. Don’t stop your thought process: Review your strategy and proposal – is there a way to differentiate yourself? Who are your buyer personas, do you talk to them on their buyer journey?
3. Focus on your current relationships and build a strong ecosystem with customers, suppliers and your employees: Talk to your customers about getting paid on time, pay your suppliers on time – it’s a chain breaking could come if we stop making payments On the other hand, do you try to take vacations as little as possible (once you have secured the cash-generating activities and the right amount of thinking)?
One sure thing NOT to do is stand still. Do you know the story of the Buridan donkey? The scene goes like this… a donkey is equally hungry and thirsty, but finds himself halfway between a haystack and a bucket of water. The paradox suggests that the animal will die of hunger and thirst because it cannot make a rational decision to choose one over the other.
If I could only say one thing about our development, it would be that our business has become even more human.
What can we expect from Eggcelerate in the future?
