A dastardly thief who stole her owner’s dog while having a heart attack on the street is being hunted by the police.
Kat Conway was walking her Shih Poo named Jessie when she collapsed on the sidewalk.
Paramedics were called and the crew took the 50-year-old to hospital – but the rescue team couldn’t allow them to get six-year-old Jessie on the back of an ambulance.
Kat said she remembered a man with blonde, curly hair and about 5ft 7in when she had the heart attack and said he first came to offer her help but then took her apricot-colored dog with him .

Kat was walking down Euston Road near the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel in central London at 2pm on Monday when she fell onto the pavement.
Disturbed, Kat said, “I’m really worried about her. She is always with me and is my shadow. This breaks my heart and all I want is for her to be home so I can cuddle her.”
Kat got Jessie from a puppy when she got her a rescue dog.
She has been discharged from hospital and is back at her home in Paisley, near Glasgow, Scotland.
“I don’t want to say anything bad as it might make things worse,” she added. “But I feel awful and just want my Jessie to be home safe and sound.”
Jessie’s front legs are bent.
She is neutered and chipped and the data is correctly registered on Kat.
She wore a matching collar, harness and leash with a pink and white tartan pattern.
An online appeal called Find Wee Jessie was launched on Facebook.
It said: “We believe the blond man has her dog. But so far he doesn’t seem to have contacted the police or the dog handler to report that he has the dog. We are looking for hotel staff or bystanders who witnessed what happened.”
A Met Police spokesman said: “Police are investigating an allegation of theft after a dog was reportedly stolen on the afternoon of June 6 in Euston Road, NW1.
“Officials have taken a statement from the informant and the investigation is ongoing.”
