There’s nothing worse than standing up on a date.
We feel silly, ashamed, and often wonder what we did wrong — even when there’s clearly no valid reason for ditching.
One woman, visiting @sedoso on TikTok, said she has perfect response for boys who really aren’t worth your time.
In the clip, she says a man texted her: “Sorry, I have to cancel our date again today.”
Her response involved a bit of fake oblivion: “Oh, we were supposed to meet today?”
The man sent another message: “Uhmm yeah…”
She clapped her hands in response to a genius: “Oh, I completely forgot.”
Singing along to Young MA’s Hello Baby, the woman proudly utters the lyrics, “That’s how you fix that.”
The tactic is a scam, with the clip having received more than 1.2 million views and hundreds of complimenting comments.
“How do I remember this forever?” one person wrote.
“Better Feedback: Who is this?” say otherwise.
A third shared her own experience with a bad date and how she handled it: “I stood up on a coffee date. He called back and said: ‘Sorry, I overslept, reschedule tonight?’ And I said, “Sorry, I’ve got another date.”
As for other ways to make a potential suitor know he’s not the most important thing in your life, TikTok star and podcast host Sofia Franklyn recently went viral after sharing her suspicions. Her first date.
In the clip, which has racked up 2.1 million views, Sofia admits that she always sends her drinks from a fake secret admirer to let her date know she’s in need.
She wrote: “When I ‘go to the bathroom’, I pay the bartender to send me an ‘anonymous’ photo so I remember my day. I have options.”
She captioned the clip: “Men like some kind of healthy competition!”
Sofia also tells her followers that she sent her flowers a few times to keep a guy.
