A huge Facebook feature has been BLOCKED – did you notice it’s gone?

FACEBOOK has left its users stunned after what appeared to be the removal of a popular feature over the weekend.
Dark mode in Facebook for iOS — a display setting that’s easy on the eyes — has been down for at least Saturday.
Corresponding 9to5Mac, the problem is probably a bug. Facebook’s parent company Meta has not provided an explanation for the problem.
The dark mode of other meta apps like Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp works as usual.
Dark mode is a user interface display preference that, when enabled, displays white text on a dark background.
Thousands of apps have introduced the feature in recent years to make their user interfaces less harsh on users’ eyes.

Facebook launched in 2020 and users can turn it on in the app’s settings or via “system-wide dark mode” on iOS.
To do this, you’ll need to dive into your iPhone settings to enable dark mode for all apps where it’s available.
Currently, users cannot enable dark mode on Facebook for iOS through the Facebook app or iOS settings.
The Sun can confirm that uninstalling and reinstalling the app doesn’t seem to solve the problem.
The Sun has reached out to Meta for comment.
Users took to other social media platforms like Twitter to react to the sudden absence of dark mode.
One person wrote, “I realize this is a huge first world issue, but not having dark mode on the iOS version of Facebook really sucks when your whole phone is all about dark mode.”
Another tweeted, “Facebook’s audacity to turn my dark mode off when I opened my phone this morning,” while another said, “To the people using dark mode, are you even alright?”
Switching to dark mode is said to benefit your eyesight when looking at your phone’s screen in a dark room.
Switching to dark mode makes text easier to read and protects your vision by reducing eye strain.
Studies have shown that reducing the amount of blue light shining into your eyes at night can improve your sleep.
According to the Sleep Foundation, blue light affects the amount of melatonin released in a person’s body and interferes with their ability to get sleepy.
This comes after Facebook began alerting users that it was dropping some features that collect user location data.
The US social media giant said Nearby Friends and Weather Alerts will be shut down by June.
