A look at Valheim’s Mistlands development, Steam deck verification confirmation, and more in a devblog

the Walheim The team has added a few new elements here and there this year, but bigger updates are still to come. There’s now a new dev blog highlighting some of what the team is up to and an update on how that work is going on.

There are only a few new updates in the new blog, but the Iron Gate team promises there is more to share. In the meantime, Walheim has won several community and professional awards, including most recently Best Debut and GDCA Audience Awards.

In practical news, the recently released Steam Deck and Walheim received a full compatibility review for Steam Deck this month, making the game fully functional across the new platform.

However, apart from a new platform, there are some small game-related updates that they share. The Mistlands are coming and this new biome is taking full focus of the team. They say transparently that it will be “quite a long time”. We will see new creatures and monsters, new dungeons and new weapons. One of these new weapons was recently teased on Twitter, and now there’s a clear preview of that weapon.

The team also hosted a community stream and has a new speed modeling video of an upcoming bow, another brand new weapon coming with the Mistlands update. This bow has a distinctive look, almost like swirls, and will stand out in the designs to come.

There’s not much to announce in terms of consent updates the team is announcing yet, but they’ve been making progress on the designs and showing the community at least a few small bits here and there. There is no timeline for Mistlands testing yet, but Valheim continues with an active community creating and venturing through it in the meantime.
