THE luxurious Ineos Grenadier 4X4 designed by Britain’s richest man could be yours – but it won’t come cheap.

This car is manufactured by INEOS Automotiveowned by billionaire Jim Ratcliffe.

Jim – a self-made man who grew up in a community center in Manchester – drove 1,800 miles from Mongolia to Beijing in a handful of Grenadiers, 1920 Bentleys and 1952 Land Rovers.

Its Grenadier 4×4 starts at £59,000 and competes with the Land Rover Defender and Toyota Land Cruiser.

Two five-seat estate models are now available, aimed at private buyers, both available with petrol or diesel.

Both models have BMW engines and Brembo brakes Daily Mail reports.

The Fieldmaster is aimed more at lifestyle drivers, the Trialmaster more at die-hard off-road fans.

They’re called Belstaff Editions, after the motorsport-inspired clothing brand that also owns Ratcliffe’s Ineos.

There are two other versions classified as ‘light commercial vehicles’: a two-seat MPV from £55,000 and a five-seat station wagon from around £59,000.

The Grenadiers have LED front lights, a chunky front bumper and steel wheels.

Ratcliffe revealed he has so far spent around £1.3billion to create the Ineos Automotive division.

INEO CEO Jim Ratcliffe said this is money: “The idea behind the Grenadier is not to create a 4X4 that is an uncompromising, no-frills, no-fuss vehicle that offers best-in-class off-road capability, durability, and utility.”

“It will support those who rely on a vehicle as their work tool, wherever they are in the world.”
