The producers of A Place in the Sun faced a huge headache this week after host Laura Hamilton had to pull out of a trip to Spain to film.

The presenter, 39, was a celebrity on the overseas househunt show, but had to apologize to her colleagues for being absent after she contracted Covid-19.

The blonde beauty took to Instagram to apologize to colleagues “let them down” as she shared a snap of the positive result.

She posted the image on her Instagram Stories with the caption: “Should fly to Spain today to film! Sorry to let my team fail @aplaceinthesun.”

Laura introduced the program for over a decade after joining in 2011 and has continued to help many property buyers find their dream home in the sunshine.

Earlier this year, she shocked her fans when she announced that she had split from her husband Alex Goward after a decade of marriage.

A source claimed at the time that the marriage was under strain during the Covid lockdown after the couple got used to Laura being away from home for work.

Last month, Laura broke her silence after the split to let her fans know that she’s fine.

The presenter opened up about building the home alone in what she calls a “we both came” decision.

Talking to Hello! magazine, Laura said: “It’s been a chapter of my life that I’m closing now, and I have so many happy memories.”

She went on to say that although the couple have chosen to follow different paths, they will maintain respect for each other as they intend to prioritize the happiness and health of their children.

The duo have two children together, son Rocco, eight, and daughter Tahlia, six.

Although the breakup of a relationship hasn’t stopped Laura’s desire to one day find love again, she admits that she’s not on the defensive right now.

She flew to Spain when news of her split from insurance broker Alex became public and announced their split using an image featuring artwork displaying the embossed quote. The voice is often attributed to Dr. Seuss, “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.

“This is not something I ever thought I would say, but after 13 years together, Alex and I broke up.
