New York woman in relationship with man twice her age
A young woman who fell in love with a man twice her age has shared how she had to correct people who assumed he was her father.
Danielle Lichtman, 26, from New York, USA, first met her now-fiance Frank, 52, at the restaurant where she works, she was 19 and he was 44.
The couple recently welcomed their son, who is now 21 months old. Danielle always wanted to be a mother, although Frank, who has a 23-year-old daughter, never expected to have more children.
Danielle and Frank regularly have to correct people who assume he is their father due to the huge age difference between them.
The stay-at-home mum said: “I met Frank when I was 19. He used to come to the restaurant I worked at and we became friends.
“I always thought he was very handsome and funny.

“I never imagined being in a relationship with an older man, but after we started hanging out as friends, we realized our chemistry was so great.
“We always had so much fun, so we decided to try and have a relationship, although Frank was a lot more nervous than me because I was so young at the time.
“Because of the age difference between us, people confused him with my father and referred to me as his daughter.
“But we just correct them politely and now that I’m older it happens less
“We don’t mind.

“One of the biggest challenges we faced because we were in an age gap relationship was deciding whether to expand our family.
“I’m young and I knew I wanted a baby, but Frank already had a grown daughter and had no plans to have any more children.
“He knew how important it was for me and worked a lot on himself to compromise. Now that we have our son, Frank says it’s the best thing he did and he would never look back.”
Danielle was thrilled and excited to learn she was pregnant, but said she was nervous about becoming a first-time mom and hoped Frank would be in her son’s life for a long time to come.
She added: “I made the first move with Frank when we were dating as friends.

“I think initially I was more into him because he wasn’t sure because he thought I was too young.
“I was attracted to his positive attitude, good energy and outlook on life.
“He firmly believes that we only have one life to live and that we need to make ourselves happy.
“We were nervous about telling our families about our relationship because we didn’t know how they would react.
“They didn’t quite accept it at first, especially my four brothers, but now our families accept it so much and my parents love Frank.”
Along with assuming Frank is Danielle’s father, she has also received comments stating that she is only dating Frank because of his money.
However, Danielle has a long list of reasons why she is in love with her fiancé.
She said: “Frank treats me incredibly.
“Being with an older man means he’s so polite and respectful. He gave me everything.
“We work through our problems and come out of it so much stronger. If I were with someone closer to my age, maybe they are not ready for a full-fledged relationship and want to start a family.
“I can’t wait to marry the love of my life in three weeks.”
