A23, A27: Road closures across Sussex this week
SUSSEX motorists must avoid three road closures near the National Highways network this week.
The news isn’t too bad, with all expected only minor delays of less than ten minutes.
The latest list of expected works, with notes from National Highways, shows three closures are due to begin this week:
• A23 8pm 1 August to 6am 2 August, slight delays (less than 10 minutes): A23 northbound, southbound, Patcham to Hickstead, lane closure for barrier repairs.
• A27 5 Aug 8pm to 6 Aug 6am, slight delays (less than 10 minutes): A27 eastbound, Falmer, ramp and lane closure for surface work.
• A27 8 August 8pm to 9 August 6am, slight delays (less than 10 minutes): A27 eastbound, Coldean to Falmer, lane closure for surface works, diversion via local authority network.
National Highways is responsible for the maintenance of freeways and major state highways, so closures of minor roads are not included in their schedule.
