THE A259 has been closed in both directions due to a mile long diesel spill.
Police are at the scene of the incident between Camber and Winchelsea, which was first reported around 9.45am today.
AA Traffic News reports that drivers are delayed by up to 26 minutes at an average speed of 8 km/h.
The spill is also said to be a mile long on the A259 South Undercliff from the A268 Fishmarket Road to Wish Street.

A Sussex Police spokesman said it was not known at this time when the road would reopen.
He said: “The A259 is closed in both directions between Camber and Winchelsea due to a diesel accident.
“It is not known when the road will reopen so please find an alternative route and allow additional time for your journey.
“We will provide an update in due course.”
