Aaron Ramsey joins Nice on a free transfer

Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey has joined Ligue 1 side Nice on a free transfer.

The 31-year-old had played for Juventus since 2019 and made 69 appearances for the Serie A side before being loaned to Rangers for the first six months of 2022.

Ramsey, who won three FA Cups in eight years with Arsenal, has 74 caps for Wales and remains the youngest man to wear the captain’s armband for his country, who will play at the World Cup for the first time in November since 1958.

“A new chapter with Nice,” he tweeted in French, before adding in English: “Can’t wait to get started.”

Ramsey’s new deal follows news his compatriot Joe Rodon has been loaned from Spurs to Rennes from Ligue 1, with an option to make the move permanent. Aaron Ramsey joins Nice on a free transfer
