Abandoned spooky country house for sale

DO NOT extinguish by getting a scare in the night? You might want to check out this spooky abandoned house that’s up for sale for £750,000.
The 18th-century hall in Powys, Wales, looks as if it’s been abandoned for decades – with furniture covered in years’ worth of dust.
The four-bed Victorian home sits on 17 acres of land that includes an orchard and a farm.
Many of the original features have been preserved throughout the home – such as the mosaic floors in the hallway, the stained-glass windows on the porch and the chimes of the servants in the kitchen.
Sundries can even be seen on the cabinets, and a grandfather clock is placed in the hallway.
Old pictures hang on the walls, and there’s a rickety staircase that leads up to what might have been the old maid’s residence in the house.
There are two living rooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom as well – but even if you’re not easily wowed by the interior, you may be apprehensive about the amount of work that needs to be done.
Estate agents Morris Marshall and Poole with Norman Lloyd said the property required “general modernization and renovation”.
The walls in some of the rooms looked like they had mold growing on them and the paint looked like it had fallen off a lot of the walls as well.
Condensation appears to have formed on many windows – which could mean it’s not well insulated and can cost a lot to keep hot.
It’s on the market for £750,000 – but before splurging, make sure you pay for a home survey.
This helps to check the condition of the property in detail and highlight any major repairs needed.
You can tell if you have enough cash to do it – and whether it’s worth it – by completing one.
The most basic home surveys cost £300, but they can cost as little as £500 for the most extensive survey, which is a building survey.
Morris, Marshall and Poole with Norman Lloyd partner Rob Hudson said: “While the property needs modernization, it offers new buyers the opportunity to renovate the hall back to its original beauty.
“The size and location make it a good family home with plenty of outdoor space, including 17 acres of land.”
This isn’t the only quirky home on the market.
This £300,000-plus apartment could be yours for as little as a takeaway pizza – we explain it.
