Abbey Road Studios is collaborating with British music company NQ on a new artist residency programme

London’s legendary Abbey Road Studios have teamed up with Manchester-based talent management, publishing and record label NQ on a new artist residency programme.

Coinciding with Abbey Road’s 90th anniversary, which included a two-day event in November 2021, Abbey Road says the partnership heralds a “new era” for the studio with the creation of a resident creative community based on a range of new Texts signaling and production spaces.

Under the Abbey Road Connected umbrella, the studios will welcome a collective of resident artists and producers into the writing spaces, with a space reserved for sessions from a pool of partners.

NQ is the first in a rotating series of partnerships.

As part of the partnership, NQ’s London-based writing and production sessions will take place in the newly opened writing rooms on Abbey Road.

Over the next 12 months, Abbey Road says the partnership will allow NQ’s talent stable to use its studio space for monthly sessions, and will also provide musicians from Manchester and the North West with access to the music industry.

NQ House was officially opened in September 2021 by CEO Michael Adex and Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham.

The former Conservative Club on the edge of Manchester city center has been transformed into a creative hub housing multiple recording and content studios, a media lounge, co-working and podcast rooms, a private members area and the NQ HQ.

The NQ x Abbey Road Studios partnership kicks off with a week-long writing camp on 23 , Sam Smith), alongside rappers Hazey and Arz.
