Accenture has appointed Hilary O’Meara as the new Country Managing Director for Ireland, taking over from 1 January, succeeding Alastair Blair who is preparing for his retirement. As Country Managing Director, Hilary O’Meara will have overall responsibility for over 5,500 employees serving clients across multiple industries including multinationals and the public sector.
Prior to her new role, Hilary O’Meara led Accenture’s strategy & consulting, resources and technology roles during her 30-year career with the company. In August 2021 she was appointed Director of Operations for Accenture UK & Ireland and will continue to serve on the UK & Ireland Executive Team.
Hilary holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from University College Dublin and serves on the Advisory Board of UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. Hilary was previously a board member of Fast Track to IT.
Alastair Blair, a well-known figure in Irish business circles, will retire from Accenture in early 2023. He joined what is now Accenture in 1987 after earning a degree in Electrical Engineering from Trinity College, Dublin and was involved during a period leading up to the dot-com bubble, Celtic Tigers, global financial crisis and recovery and the Covid pandemic.
