Rejoice Fortnite players because something spooky and scary could be coming your way in the next few days.
According to a leak from Shiina on his Twitter page, many improvements are coming in Fortnite’s latest upcoming update. The most important could be a possible crossover collaboration between Fortnite and sci-fi horror classic Dead Space.
Originally developed by Visceral and released in 2008, the game was a third-person survival horror and told the story of engineer Isaac Clarke navigating his spaceship and fighting monsters called Necromorphs. The game garnered enough fans and players that it became a franchise with two sequels, three spin-offs, two different comic series, a novel, and two animated films (Dead Space: Downfall and Dead Space: Aftermath).
With this universe already created, it made perfect sense to do a remake for the new generation of video game consoles and PCs coming out later this month. The new version of the game will follow the same premise and will be released on January 27th, so this will be a way to whet fans’ appetites with a taste of Dead Space’s visuals and skins in Fortnite.
Dead Space won’t be Fortnite’s first collaboration with other studios and IP characters. Kratos, Lara Croft or The Witcher have already appeared in the game, and if you look at the Fortnite Chapter 4 trailer, it looks like other well-known characters like The Hulk could also be next.
