According to the official game site, Splatoon 3 will support offline cloud saves

In case you missed it, Nintendo recently updated its official gaming site for turn 3 – Cloud saves are supported by revealing the third entry. The catch is that cloud saves only seem to be compatible with offline game data.
Here’s the full footnote from Nintendo’s gaming site, which also mentions how membership is required to access additional online features:
Save Data Cloud is only compatible with offline game data.
Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately) and Nintendo Account required for online features. Not available in all countries. Internet access required for online features. Conditions apply. nintendo.com/switch-online
It’s worth nothing turn 2 no cloud save support, and while Splatoon 3 won’t include additional cloud support for the game’s online features, it’s at least a step in the right direction.
At this point, it is not known exactly how data will be stored for Splatoon 3’s online components.
If we hear anything else on the subject, we’ll let you know.
