Actor Jeremy Renner in critical condition in hospital after snowplough accident

Actor Jeremy Renner is reportedly in hospital in “critical but stable” condition following a “weather-related accident.”

A rep for the actor told the US entertainment portal Deadline that the 51-year-old was airlifted to the hospital on Sunday after the incident that happened while he was plowing snow.

The rep added that Renner is with his family and is “receiving excellent care.”

“We can confirm that Jeremy is in critical but stable condition and has sustained injuries after a weather-related accident while snow plowing earlier this morning,” a Renner representative told Deadline.

It came as dozens of people were killed in snowstorm conditions across the US.

The Arctic blast kicked up high winds and snow, trapping some residents in their homes with snowdrifts and cutting off power to tens of thousands of homes and businesses.

The extent of the storm was nearly unprecedented, stretching from the Great Lakes near Canada down to the Rio Grande along the border with Mexico.

Renner previously tweeted about the snow at his US ranch in December, writing, “Snowfalls on Lake Tahoe are no joke.”

The storm unleashed its full fury on Buffalo, with hurricane winds and snow causing whiteout conditions in what has been branded as one of the worst weather-related disasters to hit western New York state.

A two-time Oscar nominee, Renner is known for playing Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

He has also appeared in films such as The Hurt Locker, American Hustle and Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol.

He is currently starring in the Paramount+ series The Mayor Of Kingstown.
