Actor Johnny Rotten in new biopic about Sex Pistols drops to eighth for iconic role

Anson Boon put his best foot forward as Johnny Rotten in the new Sex Pistols TV biopic as he drops to just 8-stone in an attempt to fully embody the singer.

The actor behind Johnny Rotten in the new Sex Pistols TV biopic has been left out as the punk legend.
Anson Boon mocked beets and drank Red Stripe beer to transform into the character, he also dropped eight stones and became left-handed.
The 22-year-old said: “I make sure I eat things that I know he likes.
“Everything has to be saved. He loves pickled beets. His mother used to feed him salads and salad dressings as a child.
“Red Stripe is his favorite beer, so I made sure I drank Red Stripe. I learned to be left-handed, it was crazy.

“I’m pretty much ambidextrous now. I just feel so in love with him.”
Anson was upset when the singer refused to meet him before his role in Danny Boyle’s Pistol.
He said: “I enjoyed talking and meeting John. But not being able to meet him only further fueled my pursuit of authenticity.
“I just hope if he watches it he can realize every decision I make in my performance is out of absolute respect for him.”

Anson, from Northamptonshire, added he had an intense time preparing to become a rocker and spent a lot of time “with John in my head”.
The actor, who co-starred with Kate Winslet and Susan Sarandon in the film Blackbird, told Rolling Stone UK edition: “I just got under eight.
“I am passionate about reading his books and participating in his design process. Apparently I had 14 wigs and dentures,’ because he’s known for having rotten teeth.
“I guarantee that all the series revolving around his life are exactly what he describes in his article.
Johnny, whose real name is John Lydon, 66, has lashed out at old friends and is the producer of a six-part series based on guitarist Steve Jones’ book Lonely Boy.
He labeled them “greedy and nasty” after he lost a battle to the Supreme Court declaring the Sex Pistols’ music could not be played.
