An actor who accused Kevin Spacey of sexually assaulting him when he was 14 narrated the episode before a New York jury on Friday and testified that he felt helpless when Spacey climbed on top of him in bed.
I was frozen,” Anthony Rapp said on the second day of a civil trial in Manhattan. “I was pinned under him. I did not know, what I should do.”
In a halting voice, Mr. Rapp testified that Spacey, then 26, invited him to a party at his Upper East Side apartment when both actors were performing on Broadway in 1986.
He said after going into a bedroom to watch TV and get away from the adults, a drunk-looking Spacey came up to him after the other guests left.
Mr Rapp said Spacey, after lifting him up and laying him on the bed, the “full weight” of his chest and groin pressed into him. He said he found a way to sneak away and escape the apartment, but not before Spacey asked, “Are you sure you want to leave?”
When asked by his attorney how he would react to anyone downplaying the seriousness of what happened, Mr Rapp responded by describing himself as a terrified child trying to fend off a grown man.
He added: “I’m grateful that this 14-year-old boy had the wherewithal to get away. I would also say he shouldn’t have gone through that in the first place.”
As Mr. Rapp testified, who sometimes took deep breaths, Spacey was writing notes on a pad or sitting with his hands clasped.
Mr Rapp’s allegations were first made public in 2017. At the time, Spacey was starring in Netflix’s political thriller House Of Cards. He is also known for his role in the 1999 film American Beauty, which earned him an Oscar.
As a teenager, Mr. Rapp starred in films such as Adventures In Babysitting. He later formed part of the original Broadway cast of Rent and is now a regular on TV’s Star Trek: Discovery.

Earlier, the first witness in the civil trial testified that Spacey took a similar step against him years ago.
Andrew Holtzman has been summoned to testify by solicitors for Mr Rapp, who is seeking $40million (£36million) in damages for the mental injuries he allegedly suffered as a result of meeting Spacey.
Mr. Holtzman, now 68, testified that he was working in his office at the New York Shakespeare Festival in the summer of 1981 when Spacey walked in and sat at an empty desk used by actors and others working for the company of seven theatres worked.
Mr Holtzman said Spacey said nothing when he entered the office in a windbreaker, “skinny blue jeans” and a leather shoulder bag, but he recalled knowing him because he saw his picture on the show for a play, Henry IV, which Spacey was then starring in.
When he finished a phone call, Mr. Holtzman got up from his desk and a “sexually aroused” Spacey walked over to him, picked him up by the crotch and laid him on the desk, Mr. Holtzman recalled.
“What are you doing? Get off me,” he said to Spacey.
“I could feel his erection against my body,” Mr. Holtzman said.
After a few more minutes, Spacey dismounted from him, grabbed his windbreaker and bag, and stormed out of the office, Mr. Holtzman said.
“He was angry,” he said.
Under cross-examination, an attorney for Spacey, 63, showed Mr. Holtzman six pages of a program for Henry IV, and Mr. Holtzman said he had not seen Spacey’s photograph.
The case continues.
