Actress Eva Green gives evidence at the Supreme Court about the collapse of the film project

Actress Eva Green will give evidence in a High Court battle over the collapse of a multimillion-pound independent film project.

The Casino Royale star, 42, was cast to star in the sci-fi film A Patriot before production ceased in October 2019.

She is currently suing the production company White Lantern Films, claiming that she was entitled to a multi-million dollar fee (about £810,000) for the film, even though it was cancelled.

White Lantern Films is defending the lawsuit and filing a counterclaim against the French actress, accusing her of making “unreasonable demands” and undermining the film’s production.

The French actress will step into the witness room to give evidence in the case on Monday, the third day of the trial in London.

At the start of the trial on Thursday, Max Mallin KC, representing White Lantern, claimed that Ms Green had an “aversion” to the vision for the film by one of the film’s executive producers, Jake. Seal holds.

The lawyer said that when speaking to her agent and the film’s director, Ms Green claimed that Seal was planning to make a “cheap B-movie”, describing him as “devil”. and “evil”, executive producer Terry Bird is “evil”. ****** idiot”, and the local crew members were “bad farmers… from Hampshire”.

However, Edmund Cullen KC, Ms Green’s attorney, said the legal battle “was designed to paint my client as a diva to attract attention and damage her reputation”.

Mr Cullen later said the messages “must be considered in the context” of negotiations over the purchase of the script rights.

Describing the film as a “passionate project”, Mr Cullen said the actress “stooped” to make the film but “financial planning will never work out”.

Monday’s hearing will begin at 10 a.m., and Ms. Green is expected to begin evidence in the afternoon.
