POP superstar Adele has canceled her Las Vegas residency after throwing a tantrum at a pool show scheduled for big-money shows.
Brit was supposed to stand in the middle while performing her hits – but likened the final design to an “old pond” and declined.
Londoner, 33 years old, canceled three months of running in her tears of concerts at Caesars Palace last week just 24 hours before they started.
A US source said how plans were hatched for her to be lifted in a swimming pool during her Weekends With Adele shows, which have seen tickets sell for upwards of 9,000 one ticket table.
But they said: “When she saw the finished design, she declined to participate.”
The source continued: “Adele describes the pool as an ‘old baggy pond’ and refuses, pointing empty, to stand in the middle of it.
“The goal was to fill the set with water as she was lifted up on a crane-like mechanism, giving the illusion that she was floating on water.”
Fans face the prospect of having to wait until next year for gigs to be rescheduled as other stars including Rod Stewart and Sting are located in the same location.
However, it is feared they may never happen, as her two canceled Wembley concerts in 2017 have yet to be rescheduled after she damaged her vocal cords. Meanwhile, Adele will make her first public appearance since the shows – at next month’s Brit Awards.
She will appear at the ceremony on 8 February via video link, which is a blow to British bosses who had hoped she would attend in person.

The singer faces a battle with fellow Brit Ed Sheeran for the two biggest awards of the night, Best Album and Best Artist. She was capable of landing a total of four, but chose to remain in the US in an attempt to repair PR damage from shock abort.
Adele broke down in tears as she announced the news on FaceTime, telling fans: “We’ve been completely ruined by delivery delays and Covid.”
She added: “We were up for over 30 hours trying to figure it out and we ran out of time. I’m so sad and I’m really embarrassed and I’m so sorry to those who have traveled. “
