Adele reveals the reasons behind her Las Vegas residency cancellation
No, Adele and Ed Sheeran weren’t snubbed at the Grammy Awards — it’s just that their latest albums didn’t fall within the eligibility window to be considered for the 2022 awards.
While the two singer-songwriters weren’t keen on awards at the event, which took place in Las Vegas last night, you can expect them to reign supreme at next year’s ceremony.
Adele will have to make amends with those who are still upset that she canceled her stay in the city of Nevada just 24 hours before she was due to appear on stage.
A producer who worked with her during rehearsals complained that she hadn’t even informed the staff at the Caesars Palace shows before making her statement.

They grumbled, “We knew there were issues with the show, but we didn’t know she had decided to cancel it until she said so on social media.”
“There was a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes that unfortunately nobody got to see. It was a real shock,” the producer continued.
Adele was scheduled to play weekend gigs in Las Vegas for over three months but tearfully announced she would be rescheduling the day before night one.

She cited issues with the Covid-19 pandemic as a mitigating factor, although reports suggest there were production issues leading up to the performances.
The shows have not yet been rescheduled but Adele will be performing at London’s British Summer Time Festival in Hyde Park this July.
Adele spoke about the residency on The Graham Norton Show earlier this year, where she explained that there are “many different reasons” for the problem.

She said: “I really thought I could get something else together in time and that’s why it was so last minute. I obviously regret that I continued with it until this late in the day.”
The singer said the production “just isn’t done,” citing delays as parts of the show and carpenters couldn’t come into work due to isolation rules, which affected them.
She said: “It would have been half a show really and I can’t do that. People will look right through me on stage and say, ‘She doesn’t want to do that.'”
