The party planner, who issued a joint statement with Alan last week confirming they were split, was “unsteady” and “lacking coordination”.

He was arrested following the smash, which opened just three miles from the £2.7m he shared with comic Alan, 45.

Drayton cried as he was jailed for 14 weeks today after admitting drunk driving at Brighton Magistrates Court.

He will serve half of his prison sentence and also be banned from driving for three years.

Sentencing, District Judge Amanda Kelly said he “risked death” while behind the wheel.

She added: “I’ve been given so much information about you and read your very powerful letter. I’ve heard about your battle with alcoholism, the breakdown of your marriage, and the impact it has on you. of locking you up.

“The sad fact is that most people walk into this room with lives already compromised in some way.

“You gambled with your life and the lives of others.

“You could have easily killed someone’s children, partner, family, or friends.”

Drayton initially denied the allegations but changed his plea last November.

His attorney John Dye told the court he was “totally petrified” of going to jail and would appeal.

He also explained how Drayton had “mental health issues” including ADHD and was forced to undergo a brain exam after falling from a horse.

The party organizer broke down in tears as the lawyer told the court: “His partner, their relationship has fallen apart.”

CROSS POTATO

The court said Drayton was stopped by police around 3pm on October 9 while making a turn in a Mitsubishi 4X4.

Prosecutor Melanie Wotton said: “Police officers were able to stop the motor vehicle. At that point, while in the rear, the silver Mitsubishi drove straight into the police car.

“The officers went out and talked to Mr. Drayton. It was clear from his demeanor that he was intoxicated. “

Drayton was found to have 153mcg of alcohol in 100ml of his breath when tested. The limit is 35mcg.

He was previously beaten by District Judge Amanda Kelly, who warned him to face jail time for the drunken crash.

“You put the public at risk by driving around in that state,” she said.

“It’s an absolute miracle that you’re here to this day and not killing or killing another member of the public.”

SAD SPLIT

Alan and Drayton announced in a joint statement on Friday that they are calling for the divorce of their three-year marriage.

A statement released by Alan’s agent read: “After 13 years as a married couple and three years together, Alan Carr and Paul Drayton are pleased to announce that they are separating.

“They have together and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go their separate ways. We ask that their privacy be respected at this sensitive time.”

Drayton later shared a post of himself on Instagram telling fans he had “tested himself in rehab” to protect himself.

He explained that it was “a step not easy to take” but was aware it was “the right step forward” for himself and Alan.

Drayton added: “The last few years have been challenging to say the least, as it has been for so many others.

“I remain deeply committed to my journey of sanity and strength. I thank you all for your kindness and support. Peace and love.”
