Albion Online has received some improvements to its controller support beta, as well as additional changes to remove guild logos related to Russia, as well as other changes to mobs, battle balance, and bug fixes.
Certain guild logos have been removed from the game due to their “political symbols”. The two logos were included in the game after winning a pre-launch competition. “Hammer and Sickle” has been replaced with the new “Hammer” theme, and “Red Army” has been replaced with “Bear”. These relate to Russia and the Soviet Union. Those affected by these changes and the removal of the logo can request a one-time switch to a new logo instead of using the replacements. The guilds that created the logos can submit new logos to continue claiming their prize.
The Controller Support Beta aims to ensure that this new way of accessing the game is open to more players. Several changes were made this week, including the addition of controller options to the general settings menu and some tweaks to controller button functionality. The update added options like right stick target selection, which include an alternate control scheme, meaning you don’t have to use a cursor to select a target. They can also cast on button release, which uses left stick aiming. The controller support beta continues, so we can expect more changes.
Other changes in the update include duels, which will be limited to a maximum of five minutes. The time is displayed at the top of the screen and if there is no winner before time runs out, it ends in a tie.
Healing is getting a major update as now only Nature and Holy Wands proc Healing Sickness. Healing performed by another item will no longer cause it.
Mob changes have been made for the Keeper Pack Leader, Ax Maiden, and Earthkeeper Shaman. They saw their attacks tweaked, with the first two using ax attacks less often and only working when the player’s health is above 50%, and Shaman of the Earth now shows a red arrow when you’re a valid target for a melee attack.
