Albion Online begins revamping the weapon line and speeding up matchmaking in the latest update

Albion Online gets patch 8 following the Awakened Lands To update. This patch focuses on combat balance changes that are more profound than previous patches, arena matchmaking improvements, controller improvements, and other changes.

In arena matchmaking, the new process is intended to speed up team formation in the queue. This should mean that solo queued DPS players will see shorter wait times. The system adjustments will also efficiently distribute pre-made healers among solo queued DPS players. This should effectively form more balanced teams more quickly.

The combat balance changes in this update make each class more effective, but also make them work better in groups, some in large-scale combat, and even ensure some classes hit just the right crowd. For example, damage from daggers now has more frontally charged damage for Blood Ritual with each hit. This means you should be able to pull it off in quick succession if needed, although the ability retains the DoT that each new hit overwrites. So unless you need quick jabs, it should be important to spread out your activations for maximum damage.

On the other hand, the glaive’s resistance penetration is reduced for those using spears, so its sustained damage in group fights is downgraded from 50% to 30%. This should affect group play and should not affect solo players.

Most of the other combat changes are of a similar scope, but there are a few that definitely go above and beyond, notably gauntlets, nature staves, and swords.

Some of the combat balance changes are more like major overhauls. When it comes to gauntlets of war, the introduction of this weapon is with Awakened Lands Several changes have been made since then, but this time it’s getting an overhaul, including skill overhauls. All of these changes include keeping the enemy in the air longer, making it easier for you to track an attack. Your final hit will also clear enemy buffs on impact, making defenses go away before you deal the damage.

Other changes in the patch include controller beta feature updates and bug fixes. You can read the full notes below Albion Online. Albion Online begins revamping the weapon line and speeding up matchmaking in the latest update
