Alcott, Twain, Kerouac – New England is a literature lover’s paradise

As an avid reader, one of the best ways I’ve found to really connect with an author’s spirit is by visiting their hometown. Spending time in a home or town where a writer you love actually lived is a vivid way to understand who he really was and why he wrote what he did. The bookworm in me loves New England, a corner of the United States full of homes and landmarks associated with great American writers. The only question is where to start?

es, Boston is home to the largest bookstores and a renowned seat of higher education. But meandering a trail through Massachusetts and Connecticut is, in my opinion, the bibliophile’s perfect road trip. The roots of the true heavyweight authors are 32 km northwest of Boston – in Concord, in the heart of the state of Massachusetts.
