Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi, Co-op, Island and Waitrose are urgently recalling chicken goujons, pastries and other items over ‘among other things, faulty ingredients, contamination including small pieces of glass and metal and wrong sell-by time’ Events

Several of the UK’s leading supermarkets have recalled a range of products over food safety concerns.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued warnings on items such as chicken goujons, pastries, pasta, beer and fish. reported Kent Live.
Product recalls occur when there is a problem with the food that means it should not be sold – this can be related to various potential hazards including contamination, misleading or false labels and allergens.
If there is a meal allergy If there is a risk, the FSA issues an allergy alert.
Reasons for this particular recall include faulty ingredients, contamination including small pieces of glass and metal, and incorrect use-by dates.
The items to be recalled include food and drink from leading supermarkets including Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi, Co-op, Island and Waitrose.

Morrison’s Chicken Goujons
Morrisons is recalling several breaded chicken products because they may contain small pieces of glass that make them unsafe to eat.

A spokesman said: “Please do not eat this product and return it to your nearest store for a full refund. We don’t need a receipt. No other products are affected by this issue.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continued commitment to the highest product quality and safety.”
Lidl warehouse
Lidl GB is expanding the recall of Starovice Czech Lager 5.0% with additional date codes because it contains sulfur dioxide which is not mentioned on the label. This means that the product poses a possible health risk to people with a sensitivity to sulfur dioxide and/or sulphites.

A spokesman said: “Lidl GB is recalling the above product from customers and has been instructed to contact the relevant allergy support organizations who will inform their members of the recall. The company has also issued a point of sale announcement to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do once they have purchased the product.”

Tesco is recalling Tesco Frozen All Butter Croissants 6-pack because it may contain almonds (nuts) not listed on the label.

Co-op pasta and salad
Co-op is recalling Co-op Peri Peri Chicken Pasta Bowl and Co-op Shrimp Marie Rose Layered Salad as they are marked with an expiration date of July 1, 2022 instead of June 1, 2022.

Tesco is recalling Tesco chicken and vegetable bowl soup with croutons over possible small pieces of metal. The possible presence of small pieces of metal makes this product unsafe for consumption.

More kid-friendly products
Ferrero is extending its precautionary recall of a selection of European-labelled children’s products manufactured at its Arlon plant in Belgium that may be contaminated with Salmonella.
Investigations have revealed that some products intended only for the European market, which have already been recalled by Ferrero in Europe, were imported into the UK by UK importers not affiliated with Ferrero.
