Alex Iwobi was released for Nigeria within five minutes of his shock tackle against Tunisia in the Cup of African Nations

ALEX IWOBI was ordered to march just five minutes after coming on as a sideline in Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations loss to Tunisia.
The Everton star turned red after a terrifying tackle left Tunisian goalscorer Youssef Msakni writhing in pain on the pitch.
Iwobi was introduced on time as the Super Eagles searched for an equalizer after Msakni’s opener shortly after half-time.
And the 25-year-old had a strong collision after receiving a pass from Leicester man Wilfred Ndidi.
Iwobi then stepped over his opponent to shield the ball, but made contact with Msakni’s shin in the process.
It was certainly a nasty challenge, but it looked a bit malicious at first and referee Maguette N’Diaye was sent off at first.
But VAR replays suggest the incident may have merited dismissal – and N’Diaye agreed after going to surveillance.
Iwobi opened up when the referee pulled a red card from his pocket to leave Nigeria with 10 men.

Msakni’s goal was enough to seal the victory for Tunisia and send them into the quarterfinals of Afcon.
Nigeria had been one of the favorites before the tournament and made it past their group stage to reach the round of 16.
But Augustine Eguavoen’s army struggled to defeat Tunisia – nicknamed the Eagles of Carthage – at the Roumde Adjia stadium.
Former Rangers striker Umar Sadiq missed a golden opportunity to score the equalizer with Nigeria minutes remaining.
