Alexis Mac Allister reacts to VAR shock as he scores twice

Alexis Mac Allister with two goals admitted he may never score like the VAR disallowed goal again.

But he celebrated as his penalty and free-kick helped Albion sweep Leicester aside 5-2.

Mac Allister capped a memorable team performance with a 25-yard free-kick after an earlier blast was ruled out for offside following a lengthy and forensic VAR check that was eventually given against Enock Mwepu.

The decision sparked outrage from the Amex, but it fired up the Seagulls for a grand finale.

Mac Allister said: “It was obviously a bit annoying.

“It was a goal I don’t know if I’ll score again in my life!

“It’s football VAR and we have to accept what we did and we carried on. That’s the important thing.”

Mac Allister said hours of practice lay behind his spot-on free-kick to wrap up the afternoon.

He told BBC Radio Sussex: “We’ve been working on free-kicks during training.

“It helped me to know what we can improve, where we hit the ball, the speed, things like that.” Alexis Mac Allister reacts to VAR shock as he scores twice
