Alexis Mac Allister’s goal gets a touch from Mick Jagger

Alexis Mac Allister has Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones to thank in part for this remarkable comment that wowed Albion fans.

Juan Manuel Pons, popularly known as Bambino, adapted a few lines from the Stones single Miss You as he commented on Mac Allister’s final free-kick against Leicester for television in Argentina.

The clip has been a huge hit among Albion fans since it was posted to Twitter by Matias Colantti, a football fan in Cordoba.

Bambino is known as a frustrated rock star who loves to put a musical twist on magical soccer moments.

He was moved to a rock music tangent late in the Leicester game when Billy Gilmour had his first touch of the ball.

“Gilmour, big name in rock ‘n’ roll, great guitarist, one of the famous founders of the great Pink Floyd,” he said, referring to Billy’s former namesake in Hove, David.

A few seconds later, as Mac Allister set up his free-kick, Bambino told the crowd: “My big dream was to be a rock ‘n’ roll singer, but I couldn’t.”

He said he enjoys English music and also cited New Order and The Who.

But he added, “My preference is for the Rolling Stones.”

He told viewers he no longer had the voice to sing.

But when Mac Allister found the top corner, he couldn’t stop himself.

“Gooooooooollllllllll – here comes one from the Stones,” he explained and then began to sing.

“Aha ah ah ah ah ah, Gate of Alexis.

“Aha ah ah ah ah ah, it was for Brighton.”

Colantti said: “I’m glad the clip resonated in England.

“I especially follow Brighton from Argentina and not only because of Alexis but also because of the way they play.

“I hope to come to England at some point and see a Brighton game.”
