In an interview with MovieWebAnne Hathaway says she “was very nervous working with Tim Burton.” She said that she admired him from the first time she watched “Beetlejuice” and didn’t want to let him down. Hathaway continued, “I wanted to immerse myself in Wonderland, which is a crazy, imaginative world. Also, I was very nervous about working on a green screen, which I had never done before. .”
All fears seem valid. However, this is also Burton’s first time filming with a green screen and those parts covers most of the movie. There’s an incredible amount of technology involved in that much CGI, and I appreciate how the actors were able to execute scenes where there wasn’t a real environment or the characters were there with them on set. It needs an extra layer of focus and imagination that would be difficult to convey.
