But scientists have recently deployed a machine powered by artificial intelligence (AI) to help with the search.

In a new report, researchers said the new AI system is helping to decode the vast amount of data pouring from the universe to Earth more efficiently than humans.

It can also sort out false positive technosignatures.

This is when scientists inadvertently notice interference from human technology — which is surprisingly common.

While researchers wrote that the stars “emitted promising signals from extraterrestrial intelligence of interest that have not been previously identified,” they do not investigate the sources further.

Researchers said they have not yet been able to rediscover similar signals from this area of ​​space.

They added that no conclusions are drawn as to whether the signals were “really generated by” extraterrestrial intelligence.

Instead, the researchers urged other scientists to study the signals further in hopes of finding out where they’re coming from.
