This Morning: Dermot jokes about Alison’s ‘outing’ relationship

All is not well backstage of The Morning as rumors about Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary are in conflict.

The unlikely duo got together last year when ITV bosses made the decision to remove longtime presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, and also put Alison and Dermot in their place to show Friday episodes of the show.

And while previous reports revealed that Alison and Dermot have suffered from some ‘teething problems’ as they get used to presenting together, it seems the duo still haven’t met eye-to-eye in more than a year later.

Sources who work on the show have stated that the pair have clashed, argued, and have struggled to ‘heat it up’ on the show.

A source told the Daily Mail: “They come from very different backgrounds. Dermot has been a big star for many years and has featured in several big shows, while Alison has always wanted a less prominent and less experienced career.

“They are impatient with each other, mainly because they do things so differently. It led to arguments on set and awkward tensions off-screen. “

It was even suggested that the pair ‘wouldn’t be upset’ if there was a roster disturbance and they were re-matched with someone else and no longer had to work together.

Mirror has reached out to a spokesperson for This Morning for comment.

Dermot had previously discussed reports that he and Alison had had a rough start to their simultaneous gigs but claimed that they had gone up in smoke a few weeks after starting to lead. lead This Morning together.

Explaining the awkwardness between them when they first started co-hosting the show, Dermot told Fabulous magazine last September: “We never took a test drive, we never read the script, we never even read the script. We don’t even have lunch together.

“The idea that there won’t be any time to get to know each other is crazy.”

While Alison reflected on their rough start in a chat on Lorraine last May, saying: “We met on Friday, it was like an arranged marriage. It took about two months to feel comfortable.

“We told each other what we didn’t like. We had a few private conversations and said, ‘oh I don’t like this about you, and the other person said well that I don’t like you when you are. do this”.

“I think the fact that we were honest and able to talk to each other… I trust him now.”

While This Morning’s main hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have also attracted attention thanks to persistent rumors that they don’t have the close behind-the-scenes they appear on screen.
