Alison Hammond wears glasses as she struggles with auto
Alison Hammond welcomed a change to the camera setup on This Morning on Thursday, as she struggled for automatic reading.
After stumbling over her words, she confessed to viewers and host Phillip Schofield that she needed her glasses because she “didn’t know what was wrong with me”.
Alison soon dropped the lens when Phil asked the camera crew to bring the device closer, so that the automatic lens was closer to Alison.
She claims this is much better and continues reading from there, only to stumble across her words but send her into a frenzy.
Phil scoffed at the moment telling her that changing studios made no difference, while Alison enjoyed putting on his glasses again.
Alison ran out of words at the start of the show, confessing that she messed them all up when she read from the device.

But later on in the show, she felt the need to explain to viewers watching at home why she was suddenly wearing her glasses.
She said when the show returned after a promotional period: “Welcome back to This Morning, now you don’t see the double.
“I actually put my glasses on because I can’t see, I can’t see automatically today. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. So I thought I’d let you know.”

Then Phillip said, “Do you want it to come a little closer?” as she said to him, “No, it’s okay.”
He told the team: “Get in there, your team comes, get in, don’t be shy. It’s okay, closer, closer, right in.”
Alison joked that she didn’t want viewers to see her wrinkles, as Phil continued: “Much more intimate, you go, you go. No one notices the giant camera filmed there.”

She told him and the viewers: “Much better, thanks a lot… oh it’s a little close, not too close. Much better, thanks a lot.”
Taking off her glasses, she read the word and once she stumbled, because the word ‘eligible’ beat her.
When Alison laughed, Phil told her, “It didn’t help then it did,” to which she replied, “I’m putting them back in.”
This morning airs at 10 a.m. weekdays on ITV.
