All Android owners are warned to watch out for scary warnings that you must never ignore

KEEP an eye on the corner of your Android phone – there you will find a very important warning.
From time to time a special popup will appear and warn you if someone is watching or listening.
The warning isn’t always evidence of sinister antics — but it could catch a rogue app spying on you.
It appears when your camera or microphone is activated by an app.
So make sure you regularly check that your camera and microphone permissions are being used properly.
It’s very similar to an alert already present on Apple’s competing iPhone.
The Google feature was added to phones in the Android 12 update.
So if you don’t have that, you can’t see it.
The new indicator will appear in the top right corner of the screen.
You’ll see a camera or microphone icon when an app tries to access both.
It prevents apps from secretly eavesdropping – or even watching through your camera.
You can also see a running log of which apps have access to your camera, microphone or location – and when.
This information is available in the new privacy dashboard in settings.
It’s also now possible to completely disable your microphone and camera in your quick settings across the phone.
Remember that seeing a symbol does not mean that something nefarious is going on.
Sometimes an app really needs to use your camera – like Instagram.
But if you notice your camera being used by a third-party app, it could mean you’re being spied on.
Cyber experts have discovered countless apps that access Android phone camera inappropriately.
So make sure you are using Android 12 and beware of foul play.
If you suspect something is wrong, you should check the app’s permissions in Settings.
For example, you can deny certain apps access to your microphone or camera.
And if you’re really concerned, you can just delete the app altogether.
To check if you have Android 12 or later, go to Settings.
Then tap About phone at the bottom and then tap Android version.
There you can see your Android version.

If you are using a very old version, it is important to update as soon as possible.
Updates not only bring new features, but also contain important security updates that help keep you safe.
