All-new iPhone 16 ‘Ultra’ is rumored for next year – and it could cost a staggering sum

APPLE is reportedly developing a glittering iPhone 16 “Ultra” that should convince tech fans despite a new high price.

The intriguing “Ultra” model comes amid plans to make the difference between the Pro and Pro Max models more obvious, according to Bloomberg.

Instead of renaming the 16th line’s Pro Max model “Ultra,” Apple could add a higher-end iPhone above both Pro models.

The tech company has reportedly talked about doing just that.

There are rumors that it might even launch in the 2024 iPhone version.

But the addition would drive prices to unprecedented heights.

The cost for a top-of-the-line model has increased from $1,150 in 2017 to $1,600 in the 14th row.

While a major economic downturn seems bizarre when to raise costs, Apple CEO Tim Cook believes consumers are willing to pay more.

Consumers would then at least have reason to upgrade, as they fear that the differences between the models will become less clear.

“I think people are willing to go out of their way to get the best they can afford in this category,” Cook said on a recent conference call.

That’s because iPhones have become an “integral” part of people’s lives, he added, with most using it as a camera, debit card and health tracker.

Apple is expected to do more to differentiate product tiers in the iPhone 15 lineup, which will be released later this year.

That includes giving the Pro Max model a periscope lens that offers improved optical zoom.
