screen time

Screen time is a great way to limit the time your child spends on their devices.

You can set it up by going to settings and find screen time.

Choose Turn on Screen Timethen the blue button that also says Turn on Screen Time.

Next, tap This is my child’s iPhone (or iPad).

Here you can choose what content you want them to be able to access – Apple offers a little help if you specify their age.

But the best is the time off screens where you can set a downtime when the device will not work e.g. B. between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. when they should be sleeping.

You can also set app and website limits for specific categories of your choice.

Avoid huge purchases on the App Store

It’s probably not a good idea to have your bank details on an iPhone used by your child as they could just go and download whatever they want.

The same applies to in-app purchases.

You can restrict them by going to settingsthen screen time.

Find Content and Privacy Restrictions – You may be asked to enter your passcode.

Go to iTunes & App Store purchasesthen select Don’t allow.

Prevent explicit content

You can prevent young people from getting their hands on things that aren’t meant for their age, like music or TV shows, by swearing.

It works if the content has a certain rating – which all apps are required to carry.

Go to settingsthen screen time.

Beat Content and Privacy Restrictionsthen Content Restrictions.

Select the settings you want for each feature or setting under Allowed Store Content.

Restrict access to adult content on the internet

The internet is full of things not intended for young eyes.

iOS and iPadOS can automatically filter website content in Safari.

Go to settingsfollowed by screen time.

Beat Content and Privacy Restrictionsthen your Screen Time passcode.
