All ten games featured in September’s State of Play

SEPTEMBER’s State of Play showcased ten big games coming to PlayStation consoles, including a number of exclusive titles for its platforms.

Here’s everything that was shown during September’s PlayStation State of Play:

God of War Ragnarok

We’ve seen a lot more God of War Ragnarok footage, including a lot more boss fights.

More environments were shown, from towering mountains to snowy landscapes.

A new limited edition controller is coming for the game and will be released the same day the game comes out.

God of War Ragnarok will be available exclusively on PlayStation 5 on November 9th, 2022.

Hogwarts legacy

A new trailer for Hogwarts Legacy has been revealed, including a new side quest.

The quest takes place in the village of Hogsmeade and reveals a new location for the game.

Dubbed The Haunted Hogsmeade Shop, we see the protagonist trying to rid an abandoned shop of ghouls.

The quest will be exclusive to PlayStation when the game releases on PS5 on February 10th, 2023.

Tekken 8

After announcing a new Tekken game at a recent esports tournament finals, we now know what the game is.

The next game in the Tekken series, Tekken 8, received its first gameplay trailer.

Only two characters were shown, and they return to favorites from the series.

No release date was announced, but the gameplay featured new animations for the fighting game.

Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge Enhanced Edition

Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge Enhanced Edition is being developed by Lucas Films Studio for the upcoming PlayStation VR2.

It’s a first-person action-adventure game set in the Star Wars universe.

Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge didn’t feature many returning characters, but C3P0 and R2D2 are confirmed to be in the game.

PSVR2 launches in early 2023, and this game is also set to release this year.

Formerly called Project Red, Stellar Blade received a new trailer complete with cinematics and gameplay.

In a futuristic world, our protagonist kills monsters with high-tech weapons.

It’s an action-adventure title apparently from a new South Korean IP.

Stellar Blade is a PS5 exclusive title announced for 2023.

Rise of Ronin

A new game from Team Ninja called Rise of Ronin has been announced.

Set in feudal Japan, the protagonist is a ninja taking on opposing clans.

In the trailer, we saw a bunch of cinematics for the game and some action gameplay.

Rise of Ronin is another PS5 exclusive game coming in 2024.


Aside from Tekken, Bandai Namco has another game in the works for PlayStation called Synduality.

It’s a futuristic third-person shooter, and the trailer features gameplay both inside and outside of mechs.

While not from the same studio, Synduality featured action that resembled a cross between Nier: Automata and Titanfall 2.

Synduality will be released on a number of platforms including PS5 in 2023.

Pacific Drive

Cinematics and gameplay were shown for a new game called Pacific Drive.

Much of the action takes place in the first-person perspective, as seen inside a car resembling Ghostbusters’ Ecto-1.

As you drive you will face and defeat demonic and ghostly enemies.

Pacific Drive will be released on PS5 in 2023.


Demeo, another game releasing for PSVR2, was announced at the State of Play showcase.

Based on a card-based tabletop game, the trailer showcased combat animations and gameplay.

The player used cards on his characters to launch attacks against enemies.

Demeo will be released in 2023 once the PSVR2 hits stores.

Yakuza like a dragon: Ishin!

Yakuza Like a Dragon: Ishin! was formerly a PS3 exclusive Japanese game. was completely remade.

With the return of Kazuma Kiryu, the main protagonist of the series takes on the role of Japanese historical figure Ryoma Sakamoto.

While the original was an action-adventure game, the subtitle “Like a Dragon” hints that the new game could be an RPG.

Yakuza like a dragon: Ishin! will be released in February 2023 for PS4 and PS5.
